Donald F. Madeo is featured this week on the "Immigration Today" segment which is part of the New Tang Dynasty Television evening news program. Mr. Madeo discussed a case that was showcased by "Immigration Today" in which Mr. Madeo successfully represented a Chinese citizen who had tried without success to obtain his green card after he was ordered deported.
In the past Mr. Madeo's client was denied his green card because U.S. immigration officials claimed that Mr. Madeo's client had committed fraud by using a fake Japanese passport to enter the United States. Mr. Madeo and his staff would not accept the government's version of the case and his client's prior attorneys' concessions about fraud. Digging through thousands of pages of documents Mr. Madeo uncovered a memo that was drafted by an Immigration official at the time that his client was apprehended. Remarkably the memo confirmed Mr. Madeo's suspicions: The client never presented the passport for admission into the United States. The result? After 20 years of heartache and struggle, Mr. Madeo's client obtained his green card. This truly is a case that makes a lawyer love his job. Well done Mr. Madeo.
