Christina Verdirame joined Youman, Madeo & Fasano, LLP in 2019. Christina began her career in immigration as a law clerk in Belfast, Northern Ireland. There, she focused on the interaction between local asylum laws and European and international human rights law while assisting in the immigration cases of clients from around the world.
While in Belfast, Christina gained experience as a legal researcher at the Committee on the Administration of Justice, a leading human rights organization that focuses on peace and conflict related topics. She worked with staff and attorneys on human rights and policy submissions as well as on court cases relating to human rights abuses in Northern Ireland.
Before joining YMF, Christina practiced at an immigration law firm in Flushing, Queens where she focused on asylum law, detained cases, and family based immigration. She also has experience in criminal defense, having spent time in criminal defense offices in the UK and the US. During her undergraduate degree, Christina studied international law and French in Geneva, Switzerland while working at the UN liaison and advocacy office of an international children's rights organization.
Christina is committed to upholding human rights standards through the practice of immigration law. She is licensed to practice law in the state of New York. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association.
