Born and raised in New York City, Mr. Mendez has dedicated his entire career to immigration law. His early days as a paralegal at Youman, Madeo & Fasano LLP fueled in him a passion to defend and advocate for immigrants. This motivated Mr. Mendez to attend the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2018.
At law school, Mr. Mendez earned a coveted position on the Editorial Board of the Pace International Law Review and worked with indigent clients in removal proceedings at the Immigration Justice Clinic. It was through this Clinic that Mr. Mendez experienced his earliest successes in Immigration Court: two challenging cases that resulted in grants. Mr. Mendez was pleased to return in 2019 to Youman, Madeo & Fasano, LLP as an Associate.
Mr. Mendez is fluent in Spanish, a skill that allows him to connect with clients and defend their constitutional rights to the fullest extent. The increasingly restrictive regulations that affect immigrant rights have driven Mr. Mendez to remain in immigration law and to defend a population that has played an instrumental role in the development of American history.
In addition to his JD, Mr. Mendez has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from SUNY Stony Brook.
